Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy Vacuum cups placed on the skin to promote healing, blood flow and separating the fascial layer. Cupping therapy is one of the oldest forms of therapy and be seem in almost every continent. It is used in Chinese medicine as a supplement to acupuncture for physical aliments. It is however a complete system of therapy in it’s own right. Many people will know cupping form many athletes using this therapy as an effective method to recovery that is drug free.

In recent years many celebrities have been pictured with cupping marks including Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson and Victoria Beckham.

There are a number of different styles of cupping but the two main ones are suction cupping and fire cupping. Each Chinese Medical Practitioner will have their own preference. Here at Qi Lin Traditional Chinese Medicine we use fire cupping. Treatments last about 10-15 mins depending on skin type and is usually done in conjunction with acupuncture and massage.
